Do You Offer Dog Training While My Dog Boards With You At Your Kennel?
Do you provide training for my dog while they are boarding at Harmony Farm
Kennel?
We have frequent and regular daily contact with each dog boarding with us and throughout their time with us it is our regular expectation for basic respectful obedience such as; sitting quietly before entering their space, putting on their collar and leash, before feeding and while opening or closing doors. We love interacting with all dogs, especially while out on hikes or at play and we find that most dogs 'know what we know and know what we will allow' almost instantly. It needs to be noted that we can not and will not allow dogs to jump on us, longe, bite or pull us around while on leash (even if they see a cat, chicken, sheep or horse) and will correct any disrespectful behaviour quickly and easily.
Collectively, we each have 50+ years of education with many dog breeds, sports and disciplines and practical experience with all types of doganalities, which has taught us extensive prey/predator understanding of good communication skills with effective, humane handling techniques. (You'll enjoy the added bonus that your dog may very well have improved manners after their kennel stay!) If you would like us to interact with your dogs in a more specific way, or use your particular training tools/equipment, we are wide open to your directional 'lead' and will be happy to continue with your personal chosen methods in your absence.
If you wish your dog to receive further training during their stay we are open to communicate with you privately as to your desires, our availability and any fees
that would cover our time for training endeavours.
* Please note that in our opinion, many dog training issues are actually 'people dog training' issues, therefore, if we do any training with your dog, we would expect
YOU to eventually take the time to train with us also, to be sure you 'connect the dots' with your dog. It's not about what we can do with your dog afterall and first
and foremost our desire would be to help create a successful, respectful and fun team between you and your dog personally. There is no greater pleasure than having fun with a well behaved, happily obedient dog that is grateful for your quality leadership!
.
As a side note, it is our suggestion to take advantage of our Ask The Trainer Page to start by asking Sylvia your training and behavioural questions. She is very educated and has vast experience that she loves to generously share - she will be prompt to answer your questions and share her wisdom, experience and dog savvy free of charge!
